Product Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction
These Product Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the purchase and use of digital and physical products sold by NattokuGo AB (org. nr. 559486-0263), trading as 80/20 Japanese, a Swedish aktiebolag with its registered office in Sweden (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “80/20 Japanese”).
These Terms apply to all purchases made through our website at 8020japanese.com, including but not limited to eBooks, audiobooks, PDF materials, Anki flashcard decks, and physical books.
By purchasing any of our products, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not make a purchase.
Note: These Terms apply to our standalone products. Our online courses are subject to separate Terms and Conditions available at course.8020japanese.com.
2. Products We Offer
2.1 Digital Products
We offer various digital products including:
- eBooks (available in PDF and EPUB formats)
- PDF materials and guides
- Audiobooks
- Anki flashcard decks
2.2 Physical Products
We offer physical books printed and shipped to customers worldwide.
2.3 Product Availability
Product availability may vary. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time without prior notice.
3. Pricing and Payment
3.1 Prices
- All prices are displayed in USD or EUR at the time of purchase.
- Prices include applicable Swedish VAT where required by law.
- Prices are subject to change at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed.
3.2 Currency
Products are priced primarily in USD, with EUR pricing available for some products. EUR prices are periodically updated to reflect exchange rates but may not be exactly equivalent at all times.
3.3 Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely through our payment processor. We accept various payment methods including credit/debit cards and other options as displayed at checkout.
3.4 Sales and Discounts
We may occasionally offer promotional discounts, typically when introducing new products. Discounts cannot be combined unless explicitly stated and are subject to the terms specified in the promotional offer.
4. Ordering and Order Confirmation
4.1 Order Process
When you place an order, you will receive an order confirmation email containing:
- Order details and items purchased
- Purchase price and payment confirmation
- Download links for digital products (where applicable)
- Estimated delivery information for physical products (where applicable)
4.2 Order Acceptance
Your order constitutes an offer to purchase products from us. We reserve the right to accept or decline your order for any reason, including but not limited to product availability, errors in pricing or product information, or suspected fraudulent activity.
4.3 Errors
We take care to ensure accuracy in product descriptions and pricing. However, if we discover an error in the price or description of a product you have ordered, we will notify you as soon as possible and give you the option to reconfirm your order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.
5. Digital Product Delivery and Access
5.1 Delivery Method
Digital products are delivered via email. You will receive an email containing download links to access your purchased files.
5.2 Download Access
- You will have 14 days from the date of purchase to download your digital products.
- You may download each file up to 10 times during this period.
- These limits are in place to prevent abuse while allowing reasonable access.
5.3 Re-Access After Expiration
If your download period expires or you exhaust your download attempts, you may request renewed access by:
- Completing our download access request form on our website, or
- Contacting our support team via email
We will restore your access promptly. There is no charge for this service.
5.4 File Formats
- eBooks: Provided in PDF and EPUB formats (both formats included with purchase)
- Other text materials: Provided in PDF format only
- Audiobooks: Provided in MP3 or other standard audio formats
- Anki flashcards: Provided as .apkg files
5.5 Technical Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring you have:
- Compatible devices and software to open and use the file formats provided
- Sufficient storage space for downloaded files
- A reliable internet connection for downloading
We recommend downloading and backing up your files immediately upon receipt.
5.6 Anki Flashcard Decks
Important: Anki flashcard decks (.apkg files) require the separate Anki software application to use. Anki is a third-party application developed by AnkiWeb that must be obtained separately from ankiweb.net or the respective app stores. 80/20 Japanese is not affiliated with Anki, and we provide no warranties regarding the Anki application’s functionality, availability, or compatibility with your devices.
6. Physical Product Delivery
6.1 Print-on-Demand
Most of our physical books are printed on demand through third-party print services, primarily BookVault and IngramSpark. This means your book is printed specifically for you after you place your order.
6.2 Shipping Locations
We ship to most countries worldwide. Shipping is not available to certain restricted regions and countries where we cannot reliably provide service.
6.3 Shipping Costs and Times
- Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and the shipping method selected.
- Estimated delivery times for various regions and shipping methods are available on our shipping information page at 8020japanese.com/shipping. These are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by customs, postal services, or other factors beyond our control.
6.4 Shipping Within the EU
In some cases, particularly for cost-effectiveness or to avoid delays, we may ship books directly from Sweden to customers within the European Union. The shipping method used will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
6.5 Order Tracking
Where available, tracking information will be provided via email once your order has shipped. Not all shipping methods include tracking.
6.6 Delivery Issues
If you do not receive your physical product within a reasonable time after the estimated delivery date, please contact us. We will investigate and work with you to resolve the issue.
6.7 Customs and Import Duties
For international shipments, you may be responsible for customs duties, taxes, and other charges imposed by your country. These charges are not included in our product or shipping prices and are your responsibility to pay.
7. Refunds and Returns
7.1 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all products, both digital and physical. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your purchase date.
To request a refund, contact our support team with your order details. Refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5-10 business days.
7.2 Digital Product Refunds
For digital products:
- Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked.
- You are not required to delete or return digital files, though we ask that you discontinue their use.
7.3 Physical Product Returns
For physical books:
- Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase if you are not satisfied or if the product arrives damaged or defective.
- If a book arrives damaged or defective, we will send a replacement at no additional cost. Please contact us with photos of the damage within 30 days of receipt.
- For returns due to change of mind, please contact us to arrange the return. Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the product is defective or damaged.
7.4 Return Shipping Costs
For returns due to change of mind, customers are responsible for return shipping costs. For defective or damaged products, we will cover replacement costs by sending a new product at no charge (return of the defective item is not required).
7.5 EU Consumer Rights
If you are an EU consumer, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason (EU Consumer Rights Directive). For digital products, by downloading the products before the 14-day period expires, you acknowledge that you are requesting immediate performance and expressly waive your right of withdrawal. Our 30-day money-back guarantee exceeds the statutory requirements and is provided as a customer service courtesy.
8. Intellectual Property and License
8.1 Ownership
All products and their content, including text, images, audio, graphics, and other materials, are the intellectual property of NattokuGo AB (80/20 Japanese) or our licensors and are protected by Swedish and international copyright laws.
Copyright notices on digital products may reference “8020japanese.com” or “80/20 Japanese.” All rights are reserved.
8.2 License Grant
When you purchase our products, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal-use license to use the products for your own personal, non-commercial learning purposes only.
8.3 Restrictions
You may NOT:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or share the products with others
- Sell, rent, lease, or sublicense the products
- Create derivative works based on the products
- Remove or alter any copyright notices or proprietary markings
- Use the products for any commercial purpose
- Upload products to any file-sharing service, public platform, social media, or piracy website
- Share digital download links with others
8.4 Personal Backup Copies
You may create backup copies of digital products for your personal use only (for example, storing copies on multiple personal devices or on a personal backup drive). These copies are subject to the same restrictions as the original files.
8.5 Enforcement
Violation of these terms may result in:
- Termination of your license to use the products
- Legal action to enforce our intellectual property rights
- Civil and criminal liability under applicable copyright laws
We actively monitor for unauthorized distribution of our products and take violations seriously.
9. Product Descriptions and Disclaimers
9.1 Product Information
We strive to provide accurate descriptions, specifications, and images of our products. However, we do not warrant that product descriptions, images, or other content are accurate, complete, current, or error-free.
9.2 Sample Pages and Previews
Where provided, sample pages or previews are intended to give you a general sense of the product content. The full product may differ in formatting, layout, or content from what is shown in samples.

Our products are educational materials intended to support Japanese language learning. We make no guarantees or warranties regarding:

9.5 Third-Party Software
Some products (such as EPUB eBooks and Anki flashcards) require third-party software or applications to use. We are not responsible for the functionality, availability, or compatibility of third-party software.

12. Warranties
12.1 Digital Products
Digital products are provided “as is” without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, except as required by applicable consumer protection laws. We warrant that digital files will be free from viruses or malicious code at the time of delivery.
12.2 Physical Products
We warrant that physical products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time of delivery. If you receive a defective product, we will replace it at no additional cost as described in Section 7.3.
12.3 Disclaimer
Except as expressly stated above and as required by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
13. Changes to These Terms
13.1 Right to Modify
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when we post the updated Terms on our website with a new “Last Updated” date.
13.2 Effect on Previous Purchases
Changes to these Terms do not retroactively affect purchases made under previous versions of the Terms, except where legally required.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
15.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your license to use our products without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to any affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
15.5 Language
These Terms are provided in English. In the event of any conflict between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail.
15.6 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or failures of third-party service providers (including print-on-demand and delivery services).
